"(Insert Day Here) - an exhibition of local artists"

So this Friday 3rd April is the opening of "Friday - an exhibition of local artists" a group exhibition in association with Semi-Permanent that I'm exhibiting in.  The show is at 19Karen Gallery on the Gold Coast then moves to Brisbane Gallery 9Lives (where I just had my solo) and it opens on the Tuesday night, thus resulting in "Tuesday - an exhibition of local artists".  Should be a good night, a few of my friends are in the show too.

Another Sneaky 1

Here's one other shot that is featured on inbyronbaytoday.com weekend wrap up.  Not sure what I did to deserve  living in such a great county, but I am damn happy about it.

Here's a short animation I've made whilst on the Lover's Land road trip.

Wrecked at The Wreck

So I have been on the road with a few crew from Sydney and around the traps on a road trip that photographer D. Hump and film grom Riley Blakeway have been documenting. Have had some killer waves the past few days and there's another swell apparently on its way. Above are a few shots a friend discovered on inbyronbaytoday.com of myself and Jason Salsbury surfing a nice little left. For the real goods and what we've been up to go to loverslandblog.com and check out the amazingness of D. Hump and Riley's work whilst we've been on the road. The shots above are courtesty of InByronBayToday.com, check it out!

Yes! Yes! Yes! Zine

Seeing as though it was my first solo I decided to do my first solo zine.  Basically its a black & white photocopy style zine with a screen printed cover.  33 covers are black leather grain card with white ink and the other 33 are white card with black ink.  Also as you can see in the photos I hand spray painted all the little envelopes the zine comes in.  If your after a copy head to the gallery and after that Matt from The Outpost with have what copies are left.  Also Craig from teeluxe.com.au is going to have them for sale up on his online store soon for those of you who can't make it to Brisbane.  Will cost you 10 bones.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Opening Night!

So Friday night was the official opening of my first ever solo show.  I don't think it could have run any smoother.  Was good to meet and greet a lot of new faces, and props to my friends who travelled from interstate to make it.  Thankyou for coming, and if you get a chance go check it out it's open today (Sunday the 22nd March) and the following weekend.  So stoked with the opening and the response from everyone who came.  Also I will be putting up images of all my work featured in the show so keep checking here for updates.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Set-Up

Hello there!  Above are a bunch of photos from the previous days of set-up for the show.  Basically framed and wired all the works Thursday and gave them a rough hang.  Then Friday Rab and I woke up with a rough hang ourselves in Noosa courtesy of a nice little shin dig Harry the Roach had for one of the Americans that's out at the moment.  Got back to the gallery at about 1pm and finished tidying up, fanged home to Rabs showered and BOOM! Hello opening night.  Thanks to the boys for helping set up, big-big thanks especially to Rab and Lach who were running around like little girls in ballerina outfits at a 6-year-olds birthday party.  Most photos by Lach.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Thankyou for coming!

So last night was my first ever solo art show.  Just like to say thankyou to the gallery boys from 9Lives and Matt from The Outpost for all their help over the last few days with the set-up.  Also thanks for all of the support from everyone who came along to the show.  Was a great night indeed.  The show will be up this weekend and next.  For more details visit www.wehaveninelives.com.  I'll be uploading all photos of my work soon as well as more photos from the set-up to the opening.  In the meantime check out my little time lapse from the mural I painted in the gallery on Thursday.  Thanks again!

Brandon is good...good is GR8 M8

So a buddy of mine from The Rock is living in Aus at the moment and came and captured some oil from Sundays secret session of board/wave sharing.  His name is Brandon and I dig his work...good to see something rather than the generic front on "Mick at Snapper" type shot.  If he can make us look good then the future is looking nothing but bright for him and his photos. From top to bottom: Waxin (me),  Speed Burn (me), Sammy Smith speeding, Dr Nate, Tubular (SS), SS Sliding, Fly away (me), Floatsy McFloat (me), Kammy BS 50/50, Hands on Deck (me), Dexter Hackin, Burnin Rail (me), "hmmm what to ride".
